Challenge
The client approached us to brand Oscar G's diverse musical style, which ranges from tracks with heavy basslines to soulful tunes with tribal and Latin influences, all while ensuring the design reflects his roots. We were tasked with developing a bold, unified visual identity that effectively highlights Oscar G and complements the varied nature of his music. We aimed to create a design that not only showcases Oscar G's persona but also sets the perfect atmosphere for his upcoming release.
Key Ideas & Insights
Using classic Oscar G features to create a recognisable identity
We decided to centre the design around a clean illustration of Oscar G's face, iconic glasses, and a "Made in Miami" hat, with radiating lines symbolising music waves to emphasise his presence in the industry and passion for music.
Monochromatic colour scheme
We used a restricted colour palette of black, white, and grey to create a bold, cohesive look that highlights key features and adds depth to the design, enhancing the visual impact.
Careful consideration of the packaging design
We extended the design aesthetic to the physical CD packaging with a black background and grey and white design elements, incorporating iconic Miami photography, and adding a vinyl-like touch with white radiating lines on the disc.
